Serving on the Board of Directors

The Iowa Association of School Boards is governed by a 17-member Board of Directors, which includes officers and regional directors from nine Director Districts and representatives from Iowa's Area Education Agencies and Community Colleges. Directors serve three-year terms. The IASB President-elect is elected by the Delegate Assembly for a two-year term.

Candidate Needed for Appointment to Director District #6 Seat on the IASB Board
Applications requested by Friday, February 28, 2025

A vacancy exists for an open seat representing your region on the IASB Board of Directors.  IASB extends our gratitude to Jennifer Borcherding from Cedar Rapids Community School District for her service on the IASB Board.  Under the IASB Bylaws, the IASB Board must now appoint to fill the vacancy.
 
Term:  The seat is open for a two-year term.  The appointee will serve through December 2025.  Nomination and election processes to fill the remainder of the unexpired term will occur in the fall of 2025.  Appointees are eligible for election through those processes. This appointment will be considered at the Board's March 26-27 meeting.
 
To apply:  To be considered for appointment, please complete and submit a  Statement of Candidacy.  Applications are requested by February 28, 2025, but will be accepted until the position is filled by action of the IASB Board at a regular or special meeting.
